The harpsichords builder

Gianpaolo Plozner was born in Tarvisio (Italy) in 1958. He studied Organ and and Composition for Organ in the class of Angelo Rosso at the Conservatory “J. Tomadini” in Udine, then Harpsichord with Laura Bertani.
Afterwards he has attended mastercourses of Organ Interpretation with Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini in Pistoia. Here he followed also the Harpsichord’s tuning and maintenance courses held by the famous harpsichord builder Franco Barrucchieri, still working in Florence.
Formerly he was administator and tuner of harpsichords at the Venice Conservatory “B. Marcello”, now by the time he has the same duty at the Conservatories of Udine, Trieste and Klagenfurt (Austria). He worked as tuner also at the Accademia Chigiana of Siena and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg (Austria).
Nowadays Gianpaolo Plozner is a really appreciated harsichord builder, knowed in Italy and abroad: his instruments have been ensteemed and played from many famous musicians.
It’s also possibile to find Plozner’s harpsichords in many Conservatories and Music Academies, like in Castelfranco Veneto, Venice, Potenza, Sassari.
Gianpaolo Plozner teaches also History of the Harpsichord and Tuning in a Summer Workshop on Baroque Music in Tarvisio.
